A New Page at NBC17
You may have noticed a new face delivering the news on NBC17.com. Page Crawford is our new web anchor; returning to the triangle after some interesting stops the past several years.
I guess the first thing I should tell you is that I DID spell her name right. Page admits to having a name spelled like the boy, but it hasn’t really slowed her down. She’s originally from the Washington, D.C. area, but got her degree in journalism from UNC - Chapel Hill…where she was a walk on softball player freshman year.
Somewhere between fielding grounders and reading scripts here at NBC17, Page found her way to Honduras while in the Peace Corps. After two years in Central America, she made her way up to New York and after a brief stint waiting tables at a comedy club, applied to the NBC Page Program. She was, of course, accepted and followed the path of other NBC Pages like Willard Scott and Regis Philbin…and yes, everyone called her Page the Page! From there, she started working in the talent recruitment division for the mother ship, NBC Universal, which meant she assisted in hiring the people you see on NBC stations all over the country.
Page is thrilled to be back in the triangle with her husband and obese, bald cat, Farley.
