Britts Donuts On The Carolina Coast
The World took one final trip to the beach this weekend before the school year gets started and while the sand and surf were great, the donuts were even better!
If you haven’t been to Carolina Beach, North Carolina since 1939, I have this new restaurant you must try. Hidden by the boardwalk, next to an arcade, snow cone shop and bumper cars is the best mixture of flour and sugar I’ve ever had. Britts Donut Shop has been turning out glazed donuts since Franklin D. Roosevelt was President! The recipe hasn’t changed since then and neither has the fact that whether it’s morning, noon or night…a warm donut from Britts is must eat when in Carolina Beach.

Outside of the donuts, the beach was packed with people trying to squeeze in one final vacation before school starts back up and the weather turns cold. I’m pretty sure everyone and their brother was there this weekend. Not only to go to the beach, but also to move students in for the upcoming school year at UNC - Wilmington and other colleges.
So, lots going on this weekend…but a busy week ahead too. A major hurricane will hit Mexico or the southern United States, the injured space shuttle will return to Earth and Triangle temperatures may return to the century mark.
Stay cool and have a good week!
