Double Decker Airbus A380 Coming To America
It’s made a few public relation visits to the United States, but now we know when the general public can start flying on the Airbus a380 double-decker airplane.

Emirates Airlines just announced it will start service from New York to Dubai October 1, 2008…and maybe even before that. Now I know most of us don’t have any business being in Dubai, but for those aviation nerds like myself, this is a very intriguing announcement.
The World is still fascinated with flight, despite all the turmoil in the industry and record high fuel prices. But hold on…fascination can only take a boy so far…after doing a little investigation and reality checking, the thirteen hour flight would cost $1300!! That’s $100 per hour. Now, you must realize Emirates is no ordinary airline, they offer three course meals (included in the price) and showers on board (not included in the price).

So, for those of you can afford it…start booking. For the rest of us, there are some great pictures of the new a380 on one of my favorite websites, airliners.net.
