Lightning & Tornado Picture: Is It Real??

This is not a blog about millions of dollars awaiting you in another country if you simply send me $500.  This is also not a picture of the first band of clouds moving into Louisiana when Katrina hit.  But, this could be close.

I got this picture on e-mail today and while it is quite amazing…I have to call a foul here and say it is not real.  On the other hand…if it is real, I hope the guy took off running for a basement as soon as he took the picture.

What do you think?

UPDATE:  It sounds like everybody agrees that this is a fake…but what do you think about this one?  It looks a little more real.

The water spout lit by a lightning strike is truly one in a million but the oil rig was added. Think outside the box.
(1) If the intention was to photograph the rig, it would be in the center of the frame.
(2) If the intention was to catch a lighting flash, the camera would be mounted on a tripod and the shutter opened waiting for the flash. Thus over exposing the lights on the rig enough to make the film unprintable.
(3) If it happened as presented, The flash would have lit some of the shadow areas on the rig or at least reflected light from some of the flat surfaces.

THIS IS A FAKE!!! I HAVE THE SAME TORNADO AND LIGHTNING ON MY “NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC” MOUSE PAD!!!! NO OIL RIG! BASTARD.
